Sacha Puttnam

Mentored from a young age by Vangelis and Quincy Jones, Sacha Puttnam is the quintessential maverick musician, proficient and knowledgeable with composing in all genres of music.

building on his early studies at the Royal College of Music, Sacha sought out new challenges and entered the Moscow ‘Tchaikovsky’ Conservatoire (Conducting and Composition) and Berklee College of Music (Composition and Arranging).

Having completed his classical and jazz training he toured the world with multi-platinum British rock band Bush, while orchestrating for renowned film composer Michael Kamen and writing extensively for commissioned Films, TV, Radio & events

Sacha's comprehensive experience and unique knowledge in film shows in his imaginative and sensitive scoring of over forty films (working with directors including John Pilger, Robert le Page, Andrea Arnold and John Dryden), numerous radio dramas, podcast series and advertising, as well as his re-working of the classic film music of his mentors and his original, intimate piano and full orchestral compositions.

Sacha has written and arranged for some of the pop and rock world’s biggest names, (Sia, Hybrid, Nick Cave, Regina Spektor & Bush) scoring multi-platinum albums, and has recorded with the Moscow, Hallé, RTE and London Studio Orchestras.
